How gorilla trekking in Rwanda is done?

First, visitors get briefed at Kinigi where Volcanoes National Park offices are found. The park official does the briefing where you get to learn the different gorilla trekking rules and regulations or safety measures.

Next, gorilla family groups are assigned to visitors in their groups comprising of 8 guests and each of them are allocated an experienced park guide. 12 habituated gorilla families currently live in Volcanoes National Park and include the Susa A, Karisimbi/Susa B, Sabyinyo, Kwitonda, Amahoro, Ugenda, Titus, Pablo, Umubano, Agashya, Bwenge and Hirwa, etc.
